Coalburn Open Day

The Coalburn Brass Band organisation are holding a free ‘Open Day’ between 2.00pm and 5.00pm on Saturday 29 August.

The event takes place at Hamilton Baptist Church, 23 Kemp Street, Hamilton, ML3 6QL and is aimed at providing the opportunity for all brass and percussion players to come along and find out more about playing in our brass bands. We are also welcoming anyone with an interest in learning a brass or percussion instrument. Please don’t worry if you don’t own your own instrument, the band has instruments that you can use free of charge.

Within the organisation, there are three bands, Coalburn Bronze Band, Coalburn Intermediate Band and Coalburn Silver Band. This year the organisation also introduced a Percussion Academy. All 3 bands and the percussion academy can cater for new and experienced players.

The timetable for the Open day is:

2.00pm            Welcome
2.05pm            Coalburn Bronze Band
2.25pm            Coalburn Intermediate Band
2.45pm            Coalburn Silver Band
3.10pm            Coalburn Silver Band Percussion Academy
3.35pm            Coalburn Bronze Band
3.55pm            Coalburn Intermediate Band
4.15pm            Coalburn Silver Band
4.40pm            Coalburn Silver Band Percussion Academy
5.00pm            Close

All three bands and the percussion academy will be performing twice at the Open Day and after each band has played there will be an opportunity to talk to our band members and conductors so that you can find out a bit more information about the band and what we do. For those that are interested in playing a brass or percussion instrument there will also be instruments available for you to try. If you already have your own instrument, please bring this along and join in on the day.

We look forward to meeting you.
